The Great Wave Kyusu is hand-made by a Japanese artisan potter and a Japanese painter, in Tokoname. The drawing represented is the famous The Great Wave off Kanagawa print by Hokusai.

This particular finish makes kyusu one of a kind, it is clearly a piece of art that will bring a beach lifestyle touch to your coffee table. It also has a built-in ceramic strainer on the back of the spout.

This traditional Japanese teapot is called Kyusu which simply means teapot. A Kyusu typically has a straight side handle unlike the western teapots with rounded handles. 

Kyusu is usually smaller than a western teapot; it holds around 100-300 ml (3-10 fl. oz) is common.

Tokoname teapots are meticulously handcrafted and are considered to be the best of their kind in Japan.
