The Great Wave Kyusu is hand-made by a Japanese artisan potter and a Japanese painter, in Tokoname. The drawing represented is the famous The Great Wave off Kanagawa print by Hokusai.
This particular finish makes kyusu one of a kind, it is clearly a piece of art that will bring a beach lifestyle touch to your coffee table. It also has a built-in ceramic strainer on the back of the spout.
This traditional Japanese teapot is called Kyusu which simply means teapot. A Kyusu typically has a straight side handle unlike the western teapots with rounded handles.
Kyusu is usually smaller than a western teapot; it holds around 100-300 ml (3-10 fl. oz) is common.
Tokoname teapots are meticulously handcrafted and are considered to be the best of their kind in Japan.
The Great Wave Kyusu will make your tea experience even more special with the most famous Japanese drawing published in the late Edo period.
