Nami Kyusu with its particular shape and fusion of colours is another unique piece made in Tokoname, a flagship city of ceramic production in Japan.
This traditional Japanese teapot is called kyusu which simply means teapot. A kyusu typically has a straight side handle unlike the western teapots with rounded handles.
The green tea leaves are brewed loose in the pot where they will develop their aromas and flavours. The built-in ceramic filter will strain the tea leaves from the spout when pouring.
Tokoname teapots are meticulously handcrafted and are considered to be the best of their kind in Japan.
